John Defonte

John Defonte became a member of Overton & Co in February, 2001. John is a graduate of the prestigious LaSalle Military Academy and furthered his education and graduated with a B.S. from CW Post College.

John has over thirty years experience in the Customs brokerage industry. Although John has extensive industry-wide knowledge, he has dedicated his efforts primarily to the wine and spirits industry. As Overton’s Wine & Spirits manager, he handles several customers who are household names for most consumers.

In addition to his work handling bonded entries, John handles consumption entries and carnets. He also handles arrangements for logistics and domestic transportation throughout the country.

An industry leader in drawback knowledge, John has successfully set up customers to receive accelerated refunds from Customs for drawback-eligible exports from the United States.
